Varsity Competitive Cheer
Kathy
Jo Resseguie: I have been coaching at Rockford since 1994. I
was the Fall sideline varsity coach for 11 years and recently joined
forces in the fall again and now coach the JV fall sideline team. I
came to Rockford fresh from graduating and cheering at Grandville
HS where I was a MHSAA State Runner up. I am member
of CCCAM and was awarded Regional Coach of the year in 2006. I
formely worked as a Champion Staff member and Director and I currently
serve on the Champion Board of Coaches. This summer I received
an award for coaching teams of Academic excellence. I
am married to an amazingly supportitive husband - Noel and have
two daughters (cheerleaders in training) Kayla and Chloe. I take PRIDE
in this program and thank all the people (parents, alumni,
fans, coaches and athletes) that have helped us grow every
year into the program we are! GO RAMS!
Mary
Hurt: I have been the Varsity Assistant Coach at Rockford since
2004, and I am loving every
minute of it. We were regional champs my first year and took 6th
at state that year. Yeah! Prior to coming here, I started the competitive
cheer program at Kenowa Hills and coached their for 10 years. We
were back to back conference champs after just 3 years! I am currently
the Secretary of the Competitive cheer coaches Association of Michigan
and prior to that I was the Vice President for 4 years. I currently
am a certified MHSAA official and member of MCJA. I have been a
speaker for CCCAM and MCCA cheer conferences. I also was an announcer
for class C/D State finals in 2001. I am a teacher at Kenowa Hills
High School. I have taught advanced spanish classes for the past
14 years. I am married to an amazing man and fellow coach so
he understands why time stands still during cheer season. We
will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary this year. (did
I mention we got married in Hawaii?) I am looking forward to
a long career coaching the amazing talent and athletes we have
at Rockford. We just keep getting better and better! I love the
enthusiasm and atmosphere here and am proud to be a RAM!
JV Competitive Cheer
Renee
Dengler: I have been the JV Competitive Cheer Coach
at Rockford since 1998! I have also coached the Fall Sideline
Cheer team for 11 years, 4 as the Varsity Coach! I am married
to Steve Dengler, a teacher and coach here at Rockford. We
will be celebrating our 6th aniversary this February 1st! We
have been very blessed the past 6 years together. We welcomed
Boston Young into the world on July 19th 2004. In 2006 we
welcomed Jetta Berlin on May 3rd. I
am a former cheerleader and graduate of Rockford. Basically
I have never left! HA! I
am very proud to see the program we have built become such a powerhouse. I
take great pride every season teaching and developing our young
athletes into amazing people!
